Recovery Position

CPR with JR CPR Certification classes includes learning about Recovery Position for a causality in an emergency situation. The Recovery position, also known as Haines position is an important step to caring for a person keeping them comfortable and monitoring them until EMS arrives.

I always thought of the position as Human Body Kickstand that protects the person that is unresponsive but is breathing normally on their own. This side lateral position,
preferably the left side, especially for pregnant women, can assist in maintaining an open airway while allowing fluids to flow freely away from the person’s mouth and prevent choking.
